I have joined hundreds of others in the annual “One World-One Heart” Giveaway.   The idea behind it is to bring all of our hearts together in Blogland and in our world in general.  We have joined together to offer part of ourselves, our talent, and our hearts on our blogs anytime from January 19 through February 12 in the form of a giveaway. I will be giving away one of my handmade fused glass pendants.  Here’s how it works.  If you’d like a chance to win this “Calla Lily on Glass” pendant, simply leave a comment on this post.  Be sure to leave a way for me to contact you to get shipping information in case you’re the winner.

The post will be open to comments until February 12.  On February 12, I will be drawing a name out of a hat- the name I draw wins the pendant.  “Calla Lily on Glass” began as a stained glass window panel I made.  I took a picture of the stained glass window, had the picture made into a fusible decal, and then I fused it on to a piece of white glass with a black border.  I love this piece because it incorporates my love of stained glass, photography and fused glass all in one.  However, if your name is drawn and you see another pendant in my Etsy shop that you would rather have, just let me know and I will substitute your favorite pendant from my shop at lawatha.etsy.com, absolutely free.

One World-One Heart is a yearly blog giveaway with participants from around the world and is the brainchild of Lisa Swifka of A Whimsical Bohemian. It’s a wonderful way for bloggers around the world to meet other bloggers and celebrate making new friends. Please be sure to visit OWOH blog to see who all is participating. Have fun visiting from blog to blog. Be sure to enter to win in each one, there’s no telling what you may win!

A wonderful friend from Arizona was feeling bad for me sitting in the frigid, snowy Pacific NorthWest. Out of the blue, she sent me a gorgeous handmade fused glass angel and an amazing glass icicle. I love my gifts- thank you Judy!

In addition to making lovely things with fused glass, Judy is very skilled and talented when it comes to stained glass and mosaics as well. Treat yourself and stop by her Etsy shop- desertroseartglass.etsy.com.

Playing Friz with Bill

Casey is a 4 year old golden retriever. He truly is “the best dog ever”- at least the best dog we’ve ever had the pleasure to have be part of our family. He occasionally likes to grab tissues out of the bathroom though- that’s his one vice. So when I saw him heading in to the bathroom this morning, I told him to get out of there- *no*! This afternoon, I saw him heading back in there, and he was standing near the back corner of the bathroom, near the commode. I told him “No, Casey”…  He looked back at me, and stood his ground… refusing to get out. I said it again- “Casey- NO. Out!” He walked out, obviously disappointed in me, because I just wasn’t getting it. I thought he was wanting to raid the garbage can. I found out later, he had something else on his mind.

Tonight, I was sitting in the living room watching a tv show with a small segment about “unruly golden retrievers”. I couldn’t believe it- there is no such thing, really, is there? An unruly golden retriever? “Unruly golden retirever” seemed like kind of an exaggeration… because I’ve never seen a *bad* one. Well… Casey left the room, walked to our bedroom, came out, came back to me, panting… giving me that “I want to show you something” look. I thought he had to go outside, so I said “show me”, which usually he either goes to the door to be let out, or he goes and stands in front of the refrigerator, where the treats are perched up on top. Well, this time he didn’t go to the door, or to the refrigerator. He walked into our bedroom, and kept looking back at me before proceeding, to make sure I was following. He walked into our bathroom and went to the far corner, where he had been earlier. I thought this was pretty strange, he’s never done this before. He glanced back at me, and looked again in the far corner, behind the commode. I looked… and lo and behold… back behind the little trash can was his beloved ball! I know he didn’t want to risk knocking the garbage over and getting scolded, he wanted the ball, but didn’t know how to go about it without getting in trouble. Awwww… sweet Casey. I retrieved the ball for him and he and Bailey are playing “keep away” with it right now. He’s such a sweetheart.

The next time I see him walking in to the bathroom, I’m going to pay closer attention at what he’s trying to tell me.
