This little pendant makes me crack a smile every time I see it. Maybe because I see something of myself in it? : )  It was made by GetGlassy, of www.getglassy.etsy.com. Patti is a member (and head computer guru!) of two groups that I am so happy to be a part of: Creative Glass Guild of Etsy (CGGE) and GlassAnarchy (GA). Patti has such a good head on her shoulders, knows “everything” about computers, goes out of her way to help her friends, and on top of all that, she’s quite the glass artist.

In addition to pieces that “tell it like it is”, Patti also makes gorgeous stained glass fish. Her newest hand-painted fused glass pieces always catch my eye with the minimalist elegance of their black and white designs.

Thank you for all you do, Patti- and thank you for being you.

The Birds Are Back!

I love making this series of 4 different birds, but I ran out of bird images and was no longer able to get them. I thought that was the last of the birds. But then… thanks to the internet… I tracked down the company that manufactures them, and was able to order some, all the way from Spain. I had a bit of a problem with the language barrier, but 2 months later… the birds have arrived. Yay!

Into The Mystic – (No Relist Campaign)

Originally uploaded by lawatha

Sometimes glass has a mind of its own. It does things in the kiln that amaze, and sometimes disappoint. This was a welcome surprise. I really like the marbled effect.

As part of a “NO Relist Campaign” in an effort to make a fresher, better Etsy, I have made a pledge to list only new and fresh items in my Etsy shop, trying my best not to relist unsold items. My personal goal is to list at least one new item every day. Afterall, who goes shopping to see the same old stuff over and over?

So who on Etsy is with me? Let’s do our part to keep Etsy fresh.
